Kevin and I headed to Dallas on Friday, and it was a great weekend get away, well except for the drive back Sunday (I'll get to that).
Friday we stopped in Longveiw on the way and picked up the crib! I can't wait to put it together!
Kevin met up with his Dad and brothers to go to the Cotton Bowl and watch the Tigers dominate those silly Aggies. I was without a ticket, and so I drove to Fort Worth to have dinner with Michael and Shereen and some of their friends. I even made it out to a couple of bars with them before heading back towards Dallas.
I ended up swinging (using the word loosely) by the stadium and picking up Kevin before heading to hotel. I don't think we were in bed before one am, and boy did I pay for it in the morning.
The sleepless night was easily forgotten during our Saturday of Shopping for Baby Payne/Peanut/Byorkin. We bought some cute little onesies and p.j.s, as well as a few toys. We also did some shopping for mommy! I finally bought some maternity jeans, and I am in heaven. So much more comfortable!
Saturday night we had dinner with Kevin's best friend from Baylor, Daniel, and his wife, Cornelia. It was great to catch up and I really hope we are all able to do it again sooner than later.
Sunday we were piddling around Dallas before leaving until both our parents sufficiently scared us enough to get on the road. We really didn't think it would get too bad. But let me tell you, driving 35 mph on I-20 from Canton to Tyler was not fun! We made it back safely and even got to pick the doggies up early.
I am editing this to say that the reason we were driving so slow was because of a freakish southern snow storm that blew throught the I-20 corridor. It was bad all the way to Tyler, but by them time we got to Shreveport it was just a wet mess. I should be thankful considering my sis and Ian were hold up in there apartment in Atlanta for a few days because of all the ice and snow.
